Exmoor Rose Retreat is a spacious three-bedroom holiday home based just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Bampton, a small-town set in a wooded valley, a tributary of the River Exe, with cafés and restaurants. Perfect for guests looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of a Devon beauty spot with Exmoor National Park within easy reach. The pretty local villages of Morebath and Shillingford are just a couple of miles away and the landscape provides excellent sporting and recreational facilities, including walking, riding, cycling, and fishing. The property is presented to a good standard with a kitchen and two living spaces on the ground floor. Guests can relax on the sofas in front of the coal fireplace watching their favourite movie on the smart TV with Freeview and a Now TV box. The dining table provides a great space to enjoy a family meal and the kitchen is well equipped with all the key appliances, there is also a freezer in the cupboard in the second living area. Outside guests will enjoy use of the enclosed garden at the back of the house with a lawn and an outdoor seating area, a lovely spot for relaxing in the sunshine. Heading upstairs there are two double bedrooms, a single bedroom, and a family bathroom.
The pretty town of Bampton provides local shops, pubs and cafés and the quaint market town of Dulverton, just six miles away, provides further amenities and shops. The local scenery is beautiful and there are many walks from the doorstep. Exmoor, Haddon Hill, and Wimbleball Lake are close by for walking, cycling, fly fishing, horse riding and a wide variety of water sports. This is a fantastic location for exploring many villages and local sites especially on Exmoor; Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Landacre and Dulverton. There are several National Trust stately homes and gardens within easy reach, including Knightshayes Court, a striking gothic mansion with extensive grounds. The large town of Tiverton is just four miles away and offers some interesting places in amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, including Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life, which is one of the largest social history museums in the southwest. The rolling wild green hills of Exmoor are nearby, where you may find stags, streams, and breath-taking scenery, along with the town of Dulverton and Dunster village. Taunton and the cathedral city of Exeter are a 40-minute drive away offering shops, theatres, and restaurants, or visit the beaches of North Devon and even the Jurassic Coast.
