Sky View Cottage is the perfect base to explore the surrounding countryside and is set amidst rolling hills and yet only a short drive from the coast and some lovely little coastal villages like Port William and Garlieston with a beautiful long sandy beach at Monreith. Along this rugged coastline there are stunning views over Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man. There are an abundance of activities in the area from walking and cycling trails as well as golf, sailing, fishing and riding. A must is a visit to the world-renowned Logan Botanical Garden with its many exotic plants and trees. The UNESCO World Heritage site of the Galloway Forest, the UK’s only Dark Skies Park, home to the 7 Stanes, Kirroughtree and Glentrool mountain bike trails, numerous lochs and the Galloway hills is only a short drive away.
