As soon as you arrive, the surroundings at The Barn instantly offer a peaceful and relaxing escape from everyday life. Accessed via a long un-tarmacked track, the L shaped property is entered via the kitchen door from the stone courtyard.

The barn sleeps 8. Additional accommodation for 2 is available from our luxury glamping rental The Lazy Mare adjacent to the barn.

Kitchen
The large farmhouse style kitchen has a dining table to seat 5 + breakfast bar with 2 stools. The adjoining utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge / freezer with ice machine. Turn the corner at the opposite end and you are greeted with an impressive open plan dining room and lounge.

Dining Room & Lounge
From here you can soak up the stunning views outside, sunrises are worth waking up early for! The dining room has a large handmade, live-edge oak dining table seating 8-10.
The main feature of the lounge is the gallery ceiling and double height exposed chimney breast housing a cosy log burner with wood and kindling for your stay. A recently built family size sofa / day bed plus large sofa and armchairs provides plenty of seating.
There is a wall-mounted TV with Sky and Disney Plus, a bookcase full of fiction and coffee table books, plus plenty of board games for all ages.
The staircase from the dining area takes you up to a mezzanine balcony with 2 bedrooms.

TO NOTE: There is a cot, highchair and stair gates available. A single folding bed is available to use either in the downstairs room or the triple room upstairs at no extra cost. Please request these upon booking.

Ground Floor Bedroom
The door to the ground floor bedroom is off of the lounge. The extra large double aspect room has a double bed, armchairs and desk.
This room has a large family bathroom with eco-bath, rain-style power shower, basin and wc, the bathroom is accessed via a few steps.

Triple room

The triple bedroom on the first floor with 3 single beds has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and a small en-suite with shower, basin and wc.

Master Bedroom
King bed with vaulted ceilings. En suite with power shower, feature pebble floor, basin and wc. There is a large balcony off of this room.

There is a king bed, and small en-suite with power shower and basin plus kitchenette, armchairs, log burner, and bluetooth Roberts radio. Outside is a private balcony with table and chairs.

Outside
The rear garden and front courtyard offer sunlight all day and are perfect areas for Al Fresco dining or kicking back with a book or a beer. The front garden has a dining table with umbrella shade next to the new raised vegetable beds.
There is a gas Outback BBQ along with giant beanbags & deckchairs in the house which can be used in the garden plus a double hammock. All gardens are gated and secure for families with small children.
Next to the glamping rental is a landscaped garden area with fire pit, perfect for toasting marshmallows and star gazing!

There is parking for 3/4 cars max.

The Barn is part of Shack & Pantry North Devon Retreat. Private yoga sessions can be arranged along with in-house pampering including facials, massages, reiki and reflexology, we have some amazing talented locals that have worked here.

Bedding and towels are provided plus a welcome hamper with local produce is supplied for your stay.

Woolacombe beach, Watermouth Bay, Hele Bay and Ilfracombe are within a 15 minute drive. Baggy Point, Lynmouth, Saunton Sands, Croyde beach and Exmoor National Park are a little further (approx 30mins). All offer a host of activities aswell as many scenic walks. There are also a number of golf courses nearby.
Situated a mile south of the village of Berrynarbor, The Barn is set in a tranquil countryside location with far reaching sea views across the Bristol Chanel to Wales. Sunrises and sunsets are particularly stunning with horses, deer and rabbits on your doorstep.

Local Tesco supermarket is a 5min drive away or you can arrange a delivery with Sainsburys, Asda or Tesco.

Summary: The property was amazing! So spacious and uniquely decorated and has EVERYTHING you need. The kitchen was stocked better than my own, the TV had all the cable channels and the wifi worked well. The view is gorgeous. We visited illfacrombe (nice harbour and views up the hill next to the harbour); national trust places: heddon valley and watersmead - stunning in the autumn (best chocolate brownies and flapjacks I've ever tasted!); Woolocombe - brilliant surf beach (though busy); keypits for quad biking (expensive though kids seemed to enjoy it); and horseriding (Dean riding school - really nice people there). There's a nice walk through the fields and by a stream to illfacrombe if you can find it - turn right at stop of road and there is a turning on the left down the road about 5-10 mins opposite the path marked on the right hand side of the road).
