Upon entering the property, there is a handy storage room where you can store your walking gear, coats and boots. Continue through the well-equipped farmhouse style kitchen/diner, where you can look forward to rustling up tasty dishes for your loved ones, ready to savour at the dining table for eight, or alfresco out in your private garden. As the evening grows darker, retire to the sitting room which features plush seating for eight guests and a large TV, perfect for enjoying family movie nights over bowls of popcorn! Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day with a soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower. When sleep calls, choose from four well-appointed bedrooms, a double with en-suite bathroom and door out onto a lookout with views over to Chatsworth House, a double, and two twins. An appealing little market town with a charming rural atmosphere and a good selection of shops, restaurants, and pubs, as well as local farmers' markets. In the town centre, there is an old 17th-century market hall and a modern leisure centre with a swimming pool. Bakewell is located within the Peak District National Park and is an excellent starting point for exploring this stunning area. Alton Towers, Britain's premier theme park, is only a short drive away, and both the rugged Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak are easily accessible. There are numerous stately homes to visit, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall, to name a few, as well as the impressive caverns in nearby Castleton and Little John's burial place in Hathersage. Visit the impressive Edwardian Opera House in Buxton, designed by Frank Matcham, who also designed the London Palladium.
