Summary: While this hotel is quite beautiful and has a wonderful location alongside a lake, our experience was not great. The front desk staff were very unhelpful, bordering on rude. We arrived shortly after check-in and were told that we couldn’t have breakfast until 8 AM despite opening at seven because the previous slots had been booked. When we went down the next day at 7:45 the dining room was almost completely empty. The room was not cleaned well, the floor clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and the shower drain backed up almost immediately once the water was on. The buffet breakfast was a complete disappointment, none of the food was really that good despite having multiple options. So if quantity is your jam, then this will be great because there are lots of options. This was by far the most expensive hotel we booked our entire Scotland trip, and the value is just not there for what it costs.
