Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Great location only a few second walk to the lake. Plenty things to do with family and the site facilities were great. Everyone was really friendly and it seems like a very quiet site. The swans on the lake were a great plus and the ducks kept visiting us every morning.

Negative: The lodge needs a deep clean. Although this is a pet friendly lodge we did not expect the carpets to be so severely stained. The fridge shelfs were broken and the fridge was stained with old food. I ended up bleaching it and cleaning toilets, sinks and showers myself. Behind one of the bedside drawers i found an old pair of slippers that someone had left behind so this must have not been moved and cleaned properly. The carpets were also giving off a little bit of an odour and could do with a good wash. There was a little storage cupboard in the lodge wich was stuffed with all sort of things like an old christmas tree and a bucket with and old smelly mop head. I feel staying for a week we should have been provided rather with a hoover in that cupboard as we kept bringing in cut grass and gravel from outside. The outside of the lodge was covered in cobwebs, it was a little embarrassing as the lodges next to us were really clean looking. As others reported, decking needs a jet wash as really slippery when raining or humid outside. Big h&s issue as a couple of us slipped and almost fell. Overall it could be a great lodge if it wasn't for the cleanliness.
