It is a lovely easy walk into nearby Rothbury either on the footpath on the roadside or using a public right of way over the field. The property is also on the edge of the national park close to the designated Dark Sky’s area. As well as providing miles upon miles of walking routes and cycle paths the park is the first of its kind in England to be designated as a Dark Sky Park. The award winning Kielder Observatory in Kielder Water is THE place to go to gaze at the stars after dark. In addition to the Simonside Hills to the rear of the cottage you have views toward Cragside from the front and the glorious coast is a short drive away as is Alnwick and Alnwick Castle.
