Positive: An absolutely lovely place to stay. The home is easy to find & access, well located for Torver and Coniston, also Ambleside and Grasmere are only 30 minutes drive away. We used as a base to go hiking in each of these locations. The house is more than well equipped, everything you could need in the kitchen and throughout the house. There is a washer/dryer in the kitchen, a slow cooker, microwave, cooker, kettles, toaster etc - all good quality and easy to use. Beds are well sized and comfy, the mattresses are medium/hard but still very comfortable, plenty of pillows and bedding options. The garden is beautiful and spacious with a variety of wildlife visiting it, including resident wild bunnies! We spoke with the host a few days before arriving and they were very friendly and helpful. The property has its own water source and the drinking water is so lovely. The host asks that you only use the products & toiletries provided as the septic tank is sensitive to some products - this was absolutely understandable and helpful to not have to pack shampoo & body wash. The products & toiletries supplied were all very good quality so had no issues using them. We ate at the Wilson Arms (which is just over the road) a couple of nights during our stay and the food is very delicious, we also ate at The Ship in Coniston which we also highly recommend. Overall a wonderful home from home and we will definitely return again.
