Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The house is really lovely. Great spot and ample space for various family members. The en suites with huge baths were great, as were the open fires throughout the house. Nicely furnished and comfortable with no expense spared. The village was very peaceful and quintessential Oxfordshire countryside.

Negative: While the house itself is lovely, it's let down by the company that manages it, and is the point of contact. Communication was confusing at best, non existent at worst. We were given the wrong location for the house and little instruction on how things worked. There was an online 'guide' that had links to information that was actually the company's Slack channel which we couldn't access. We had a big issue with the hot water going off and the management company was impossible to get hold of. Fortunately there was a gardener at the property that day who gave us the number of the landlord who sent somebody out. But we were without hot water for almost 24 hours. There were also clothes left by previous guests and lots of rubbish that hadn't been removed. The single bedroom is in a separate hut in the garden, which isn't clear from the description. This really is a beautiful house with lots of potential. The owner should consider using a different management company because they have no idea what they're doing.
