Travel Purpose: business

Positive: I found this place when the ferry to Islay was cancelled and it's a great find as it's not far from the ferry terminal. It's a family-run place and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. The place is set up like a self-catering house but you can rent a single room so it's a bit like a hostel but with bedrooms that feel more like what you would get in a decent hotel. The kitchen is well-stocked with things you might need and there is a communal area where you can sit and socialise if you want, but I also had a TV and comfy chair in my room so if you want to just lock yourself in your room and sit in there that's also an option. Would highly recommend if you're happy to share communal space with other people.

Negative: There wasn't really anything not to like. The communal areas feel functional rather than cosy but I visited when the place had literally just opened so I'm sure things will change as time goes on. I didn't care about not having an ensuite bathroom as there were plenty for the number of rooms but if you're picky about that this place is not for you.
