Summary: Check in was slow but that fair enough with one staff member on and it being a Saturday afternoon. However walking out the lift to half painted walls wasn’t the best welcome. There was a sign about wet paint for another floor but not for ours. On entering the room it was small for 4 people. Definitely more a room for 2, the room was very tired looking and on closer look. We noticed flaking paint, chips to the paint, broken curtain rail, it was also tied back with a pillow case and dust all over the mirror and mould on the walls and ceiling too. Then into the bathroom and instead of a shower cubicle we had a large jacuzzi bath with shower head in the ceiling. The bath was so high it was hard to get in and out without sitting and then climbing in. But noticed the seal was mouldy and coming away and the ceiling showed lots of paint peeling off too and the fittings were all loose on the walls too. The air system also wasn’t working and the room was roasting. When reported to reception she replied with the air system had never worked and that they were full so can’t offer a move. She offered a late check out but this was no use and a drink but the bar also closed at 8pm and this was us running late for dinner. On checkout same person asked how our stay was and when I replied I spoke to you last night she greeted me with a blank look and do you want the customer service email. So clearly didn’t care. Met a family at the door who had the same experience too
