Positive: We had a lovely stay at The Scarlet overall — the hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and in a stunning location. The atmosphere was very relaxing and it definitely felt like a special getaway. The spa facilities and overall aesthetic were really nice, and the staff were friendly throughout our stay. That said, for almost £900, we did leave feeling like it didn’t quite live up to the price point. It was my birthday during our stay and we were a little surprised there wasn’t even a small complimentary gesture or acknowledgment, especially at a hotel positioned as a luxury experience. Nothing was necessarily wrong, but it just didn’t have that “wow” factor we were expecting for the cost. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and we enjoyed our time there, but probably not somewhere we would return to based on the value for money.
