Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We were visiting family so stayed here for the location. Beautiful village and was great to have a car park at the back to use. The staff were very nice. Clean room.

Negative: The first room we were given wasn’t good and also wasn’t the room we had booked. The room, although clean was filled with bulky furniture which meant it felt very cramped. The bathroom had a flimsy door as was tiny. In fairness we did get this resolved and were moved to a garden room as we had booked and this was nice. The gentleman who sorted this for us did it very begrudgingly but the other staff were lovely. For a building so full of history it felt soulless inside and lacks character and atmosphere. Sadly this property has a lot of potential but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. This was our second visit and after having issues both times we would probably look elsewhere.
