Summary: Very clean room, excellent breakfast. Lovely, lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Nice to have our dog at breakfast. Reasonable checking in and checking out times and breakfast allocation time. Only thing that would have made it better would have been the temperature of the room! It was soooo hot. There was a fan in the wardrobe but it was still far too hot. Very unsettled first night as hardly slept at all. Worst night I’ve had in years which was a shame as we were away for the weekend. The first night was unsettled but the second night was hardly any sleep at all for both of us and my husband can sleep anywhere! Not sure what could have been done as the heating wasn’t on in the bathroom when we touched it? Beautiful hotel grounds to walk around and walk your dog. Excellent tea tray and welcome book. If I had to be constructive I’d say the room needed a table side lamp and the welcome folder requires a note saying to get a code from the desk to be able to get out of the grounds. I didn’t know the first time and the second time I forgot to ask again and on my way back in I asked at the reception desk and she explained it has to be changed regularly. I think if it was explained in the welcome folder I would have asked at the desk before walking to the gardens. Very well kept beautiful gardens for sure. I expected the room to be tired after reading reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. Such a shame our room was like a sauna otherwise it would have been a perfect stay.
