Positive: Food was very good, the breakfast was excellent, very tasty and freshly cooked. We ate here every evening, and there was a good choice of dishes, especially pies! Dogs re made welcome in the rooms and in the pub. We did a few nice walks from the pub, May Hill was worth the uphill slog for the view, but some of the stiles were not very dog friendly as they were covered with barbed wire.

Negative: It looked a bit unloved in places, the plants in pots outside the rooms needed watering, they were all dead. The quilt and pillows could do with a wash, however the covers and cases were clean. The room generally was quite small but had everything we needed for our stay.

Summary: Good value rooms for a short stay and great food.
