Positive: We were the only ones in the dining room at breakfast and were left pretty much to our own devices. Plain croissants would have been nice as there were only chocolate filled ones available. That said, I paid the extra for the cooked option and it was excellent! Public transport into Edinburgh was seamless and door to door. Also very handy for a visit to the Rosslyn Chapel literally three minutes away

Negative: The bar was a little spartan and the locals were watching football on iPads. Everyone was friendly enough and it served to have a nightcap before bed. We also benefited from a room upgrade.

Summary: Fulfilled our expectations completely.
