Positive: We were not happy with the original room but the "on-call staff member" (Moz) was extremely helpful and moved us to a much better, more comfortable room. With the better room, we had a pleasant stay and the hotel is in a great location for exploring Hitchin.

Negative: Potential customers are less likely to be disappointed with this hotel if their expectations are managed in advance. This is not a typical hotel, It is a "concept" hotel. The concept is minimalistic with no outside signage, no front door, no reception, no on-site staff, no facilities. Guests are expected to check in at a neighbouring "Pan Burrito" Take-away (make sure you arrive when this is open between 1200 and 2130). Your rooms will be located in 1 of 5 separate buildings down a side alley. The current owners are in the process of slowly upgrading the rooms but some of them are still very tired, with threadbare carpets, faulty fixtures and fittings, and haven't been decorated for many, many years. On arrival you will be given a mobile telephone number to contact in case of any problems but you may not get an instant response. This "minimalistic" approach could work well for some guests if all the facilities were maintained and everything worked perfectly.
