Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Cooked breakfast was ok, facilities (room, bathroom, dining room) were clean, good shower, great location for our needs. On arrival staff member was friendly and helpful.

Negative: Horrible, uncomfortable pillows. Had to park 5 mins walk away due to parking restrictions/permit only. Twice, on separate occasions arriving back at the hotel, the receptionist, then the night porter were smoking on the front steps at the main entrance (beside the 'please do not smoke on the steps' sign!). At breakfast we (3 adults) waited, as instructed, to be seated, only to be told we would have to sit at 2 separate tables (each with 2 chairs) at opposite sides of the dining area. We thought it was a reasonable assumption that the staff member would have realised who had been to breakfast and arranged the seating/tables accordingly. She was actually on the verge of rude, certainly no apology, although did eventually clear a table after we were seated and push them together so we could have breakfast as a family. It was quite an uncomfortable situation, we were made to feel as though we were being awkward asking to be seated together, and when we left she just took the key from us, no niceties involved.

Summary: It was passable for one night, but definitely won't be back.
